International Puzzle Party 29, San Francisco, USA
1 August 2009IPP29 was hosted by Dave Rossetti and held in San Francisco in August of 2009. What do you think of when you think San Francisco? …
4 hexagonal sticks & 4 dowels. One stick-dowel pair joined to form an elbow. Another joined to form a cross piece. 6 pieces in total.
Commenting on the change from the original design that had all separate pieces Stewart’s words are “this makes the puzzle rather more interesting”. With a picture of the resulting puzzle it is not so difficult to make the pieces into this puzzle. Take the picture away and it becomes a lot harder to do.
Or bring it out of your puzzle collection, show people the finished puzzle, then take it apart quickly and hand them the 6 pieces; it’s surprising how difficult it is to build the fourfold symmetrical shape. Brian has built the puzzle in the reverse direction to Stewart’s drawings, after all we are downunder.
Size: Hex pieces are 95mm long.
