2D Put Together
A brainteaser called Stomachion, the so-called problem that “drives you mad!” – was created by the Greeks in about the 3rd century BC. It was a 14 piece dissection of a square and legend has it was played with, and possibly invented by, Archimedes. Tangrams are a later example (later we say, yet they’ve been known to the Chinese for many centuries!) of this same type of 2D dissection or put-together puzzle.
We’ve been enjoying puzzles for a very long time. No wonder! They are beneficial to our brain. They make us think. Critical thinking is still as important in our modern world as it’s always been.
